Australians to get boost towards comfortable retirement
The government has announced it will gradually lift the super guarantee rate to 12% by 2019, starting with a 0.25% increase from 1 July 2013.

As life expectancies continue increasing, Australians need even more super savings to enjoy a secure and comfortable retirement. Over the next 40 years, life expectancy at age 60 is projected to increase from 22.6 to 27.7 years for men and 26.1 to 30.8 years for women^. This means you have a 50% chance of living past the ripe old age of 87 if you’re a man or 90 if you’re a woman!
